Summer, Winter and General Game Play Advice Section

SUMMER PLAY:

Dress fairly light.

Wear thin gloves.

Bring water.

WINTER PLAY:

Dress fairly heavy (in layers).

Neoprene type cover for air tank to help keep it warm.

Keep your air tank close to you, or in your armpit to help keep it warm.

Wear thick gloves.

Adjust your camoflauge to match the enviroment you will be playing in.

Consider the use of an expansion chamber and regulator as the temperature drops below 40 degrees.

Be aware of low pressure in your gun, as the temperature drops CO2 will not turn to vapor as quickly and your shot effiency will go down as will your velocity. You will need a pressure regulator if you are planning on playing at low temperatures. This will help keep liquid out of your gun. If you normally play with your gun in 75 degree weather, then your gun will function properly at anything less than about 900 PSI, however if you then take that same gun without changing anything and try playing at 35 degrees you will be getting liquid CO2 in your gun. At 35 degrees you will need to be set at 500 PSI or less otherwise the pressure difference will cause liquid and solid CO2 will get into your gun and cause ball breakage and blown o-rings. For most paintball guns you can set it at 500 PSI and be ok with that all year.

GENERAL GAME PLAY

Be completely covered when playing (no exposed skin).

Be fully covered by camoflauge (or earth tone colors). Even camo your mask and other equipment. Most players can pick out a black paintball mask moving through the forest very easily.
Notice how easy it is to see the black this player is wearing as opposed to their camoflauge.

Bring extra CO2 tanks, and extra urethane o-rings.

Bring a field repair kit for your gun.

Bring a barrel squegee.

Bring anti-fog spray and paper towels.

Bring about 1,000 paintballs (a few more or less depending on your style of playing)

Bring a GMRS/FRS band radio (talkabout radio) and a headset if you have it.

Pods, harness, remote line, and knee/elbow pads are a definite plus!

When playing (unless you are using a remote line or anti-siphon tube) avoid pointing your gun down as it will allow more liquid CO2 to enter your gun.

Reload frequently.

Stay small, stay low, stay quiet.

Use cover and concealment.

Remember, moving targets are harder to hit.

Remember to have the right attitude when you play. Too many players set their goals too low. Some players decide their goal is to not get shot, or to shoot someone. Your goal should be for your team to win. Do what your team needs to do to win. Remember that even if you do shoot 8 people and your team loses, you're still a loser.

Be familiar with the playing field.

Watch what the experienced players do.
